Playgroup Participation Waiver

Welcome to Little Nature Wanderlust!
We’re delighted to have your child join us for playful exploration, creativity, and movement. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask all parents and guardians to read and agree to the following Participation Waiver.

This waiver applies to all Little Nature Wanderlust playgroup sessions, whether held in hired indoor venues (such as clubhouses, community rooms, or sports centres) or outdoor public spaces.

1. Supervision & Responsibility

Our playgroups are designed for children aged 6 months to 4 years.

A parent or supervising adult (including a domestic helper) must remain with the child for the entire duration of the session.

By attending, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for actively supervising your child at all times

  • Little Nature Wanderlust staff provide guidance and facilitation, but do not provide one-to-one supervision or childcare

  • You will intervene where necessary to support your child’s safety, behaviour, and engagement

2. Nature of Activities

Little Nature Wanderlust playgroups involve a range of sensory, creative, physical, and exploratory activities designed for early childhood development.

Activities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Hands-on sensory exploration

  • Creative and process-based art

  • Loose-parts and open-ended play

  • Movement, balance, and physical play

  • Food-based or taste-safe materials

  • Outdoor or nature-based activities

Activities vary by session and location and are intentionally open-ended to support curiosity, creativity, and development.

3. Assumption of Risk

Participation in playgroup sessions involves inherent and foreseeable risks associated with early childhood play and exploration.

These risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Wet, slippery, or uneven surfaces

  • Contact with natural or food-based materials

  • Staining or soiling of clothing and personal items

  • Interaction with small or loose objects

  • Physical movement such as climbing, balancing, or outdoor play

  • Minor bumps, slips, falls, or scrapes common in young children

By attending, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks and agree to actively supervise your child throughout the session.

4. Allergies, Sensitivities & Health Information

Some activities may involve food-based, scented, or tactile materials.

By booking a playgroup session, you agree that:

  • You will disclose any allergies, sensitivities, or relevant health conditions in your booking confirmation message

  • You understand that Little Nature Wanderlust relies on the accuracy of the information provided

  • Little Nature Wanderlust cannot be held responsible for reactions or incidents arising from undisclosed allergies or conditions

Once informed, we take reasonable care to support safe participation.

5. First Aid & Emergency Care

In the event of a minor injury:

  • The supervising adult remains primarily responsible for attending to the child

  • Little Nature Wanderlust staff may offer basic first-aid items (such as bandages or ice packs)

  • Staff do not provide medical treatment

In the event of a serious or time-critical emergency (for example, a severe allergic reaction or loss of consciousness), you authorise Little Nature Wanderlust staff to:

  • Call emergency services

  • Provide basic first aid until professional help arrives

You agree not to hold Little Nature Wanderlust liable for good-faith emergency actions taken to protect your child.

6. Personal Belongings

You understand and accept that:

  • Playgroup activities may be messy

  • Clothing, footwear, or personal items may become wet, stained, or damaged

  • You are responsible for your child’s belongings during sessions

7. General Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release Little Nature Wanderlust, its staff, instructors, assistants, and affiliates from liability for:

  • Injuries arising from the inherent risks of early childhood play

  • Incidents resulting from lack of supervision by the attending adult

  • Reactions related to undisclosed allergies or sensitivities

  • Loss or damage to personal property

This waiver does not limit liability in cases of proven gross negligence.

8. Session Duration

Standard playgroup sessions run for 1 hour, unless otherwise arranged (for example, private or customised sessions).
This waiver applies to all session formats and durations.

9. Agreement to This Waiver

By booking and paying for a Little Nature Wanderlust playgroup and submitting your booking confirmation via WhatsApp, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood this Playgroup Participation Waiver

  • You agree to all terms outlined above

  • You accept responsibility for your child’s supervision and wellbeing during the session

  • You acknowledge the inherent risks of sensory, physical, and exploratory play

This waiver is available at all times on our website.
